MASSIMILIANO ALLEGRI THE PERFECT MATCH
Since the day rumours started filtering in about the imminent departure of Mr Arsene Wenger, fans whether supporting Arsenal or not became very sensitive and concern on the names being reported in the media as potential replacement for the longest serving coach of the football club.
Among such big names were Thomas Tuchel presently with Borussia Dortmund, Eddie Howe of Bournemouth, a possible return of the legends to be spearheaded by the former talismanic midfielder Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergham and finally the name Massimiliano Allegri popped out of thin air and overshadowed every other name afore mentioned.
To some, Allegri was just a fortunate coach enjoying the benefit of handling a big team with big budget and also parading the league's best players and relative lack of competition in the league while some stood by the results as their evidence to buttress the point that he has and is a good coach that can produce the spark needed to rekindle the desire of the fans and hence improve on their European adventure.
Fortunately, I have always been an advocate that the job be given to the young charismatic English coach - Eddie Howe, my reasons were not far fetched because he was already in league and understands the internal workings of most teams in the league and the league itself, he wouldn't need to adjust to the league and had shown that he can take on big teams without fear. Others talked about Thomas Tuchel, which to me was not capable of managing a club whose fans across the world demand instant success for bragging right. But my verdict was and is that he is not good enough to handle our team because his current team are seriously not competing for the title.
The whole talk of the return of the legends to the club to me was just a feeble dugged out from the trash bin only to feed the eager readers.
But the story that kept me always reading about the potential replacement for Prof Wenger was and is the Allegri's, there and then I became an Italian serial A fan and follwed every Juventus game. Tactically, I sew nothing too special about him but had to respect his sense of judgement and composure on several instances.
On the night of their first leg quarter final clash with Barcelona, the team had built a very strong defensive side to withstand the untiring attack of Suarez, Messi and Neymer. The plan was rightfully executed and the lead three nil into the second match which eventually ended in a goalless draw which meant that Barcelona were out of the champions league but the stories worth explanation has to be the tactical masterpiece that Massimiliano Allegri put in both at home and away to Barcelona on the nihht, Juventus were simply amazing to watch.
As an Arsenal fan, I think Massimiliano Allegri is the most qualified coach for the Wenger job and the Arsenal board should start making the call to his agent. Firstly, it is good to know that with him at the helm of affair, arsenal's vulnerability to set pieces and our unending defensive frailty, he would clearly have and would produce accurate answers to. The midfield and striking department would become efficient and productive and youngsters would flourish under him as a manager.
What the fans needs now is nothing but change and Max has passed the test and Arsenal fans all over the world would continuously dream of an Allegri take over next season and for the first time I definitely join the crowd(#WengerOut) to wish that Wenger leaves and Massimiliano be appointed to begin the true rebuilding process.
